Round Rock is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, in Williamson County, which is a part of the Greater Austin metropolitan area. The population was estimated at 110,821 in 2019, making it the 28th-most populous city in the state of Texas and the largest city in Williamson County. Check this out!

Round Rock was the site of the first permanent settlement in Williamson County, founded by pioneers from Missouri and Arkansas on August 8, 1835, three years before Texas Independence. The early settlers chose the name "Round Rock" for their new community because of the large round boulder located near the center of town. This big rock became known as "Champion-Ship Rock" after settlers began using it as a landmark to guide them through the dense overgrowth that covered the area.

The railroad arrived in Round Rock in 1881, and the town began to grow quickly. By 1885, the population had reached 500, and by 1890 it was 1,000. The city continued to grow throughout the early 1900s, as new businesses and homes were built. In 1912, the first school in Williamson County was built in Round Rock.

Today, Round Rock is a prosperous city with a diversified economy that includes manufacturing, technology, health care, and retail. The city is home to several major corporations including Dell Technologies and Emerson Process Management. Round Rock also has a strong education system, with six universities and more than 30 public schools. The city is known for its quality of life, and its residents enjoy a low cost of living and a high standard of living.
